The Heretic's Gift Economy

I love spending my time helping underdog groups take on the financial sector, or writing Creative Commons pieces that can be shared for free. The problem, though, is that it's hard to get paid to do this kind of thing, unless you're a full-time academic employed by a university or a professional journalist employed by a big publication. I like to remain independent from single institutions or political groups, but the result of this is that, at any one point, I'm normally between 1-2 months away from bankruptcy. It's thus always welcome when someone wishes to donate a fiver or a bottle of whisky to boost my morale. If you have enjoyed a piece, and want to support me to continue, here are some options.

£5: Buy me a beer mateys!

In London, a beer can set one back up to £5. If you'd like to buy me a drink, click on the link below and ping me a fiver. Be sure to send me an email (see address on side panel), to let me know your name too

£25: Buy me a bottle o' rum or whisky!

I used to be a cocktail barman, and nothing gets my spirits up more than, well, playing with spirits. It's tricky to actually send me a bottle of whisky in the post, but I've found a great e-voucher service for a £25 gift voucher from food & drink store Marks & Spencer's, from where I can buy whisky, rum and gin, all of which are excellent for cocktails. All you do is click on 'Buy as a Gift' and then insert my email address - brett [dot] scott [at] cantabgold [dot] net - in the form that appears
